A moment of serenity in the midst of chaos…
Designer Gül Ağış blends elements of her inspirations with characteristics of Istanbul as we have seen in her previous presentations of the Frida Kahlo collection inspired by Mexico and later Agatha Christie in Istanbul. She is now bringing Kyoto to Istanbul for the Fall/Winter 2018 collection.
The starting point for the Lug Von Siga Fall/Winter collection was the traditional Zen gardens, which founder and creative director Gül Ağış visited during her trip to Kyoto. The designer reflects the traditional elements of Turkish and Japanese cultures on the details of collection pieces.
She takes elements that coincide and differ in the two cultures and fuses them into the brand’s unique silhouettes and fabric combinations, combining symmetric forms with Japanese-Turkish prints. The forms that bear references to late seventies and early eighties create eclectic textures on the juxtapositions of matte and shiny surfaces. The collection pieces create a modern form with delicate embellishments while their story reflects the brand DNA of Lug Von Siga.
The runway show is choreographed by Öner Evez, makeup provided by NARS Cosmetics, hair by the Makas team, styling by Hakan Bahar and music by Zozo.
